Description & Brief scope

The Project revolves around Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited's (CPCL) plan to establish a cutting-edge grassroots refinery in Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu. This refinery caters to the surging demand in the southern region. CPCL, with the support of the Center for Urbanization, Buildings, and Environment (CUBE), seeks to implement a holistic area development approach in 45 villages spanning Nagapattinam and Karaikal districts.

The project involves Concept for Area Development Approach for Nagapattinam as per Gati Shakti’s laid down objectives. The proposed plan shall aim to position Nagapattinam as a growth centre by transforming the town into a vibrant and leading economic hub in the region by leveraging its potential in various sectors and creating a conducive environment through infrastructure development with a focus on inclusive growth and overall well-being of its citizens.
