  • TP QA QC Services for buildings works including Bungalows for Ministers & Judges & Senior Officials, APCRDA Project office (G+1), Additional 6 floors with Precast Structural elements over APCRDA Project Office, Judicial Complex in G+2 Building, Judicial Complex (Phase-2) works, AGC Infrastructure works including Artificial water body, GAD Tower (G+49), Tower No. 1, 2, 3, 4, corresponding amenity areas & High Court building.

Tamil Nadu Highways Construction & Maintenance Department, Pollachi division has awarded a Performance Based Maintenance Contract for Ordinary Maintenance, Initial Rectification, Periodic Renewal, Minor Improvements, Ordinary Maintenance and Emergency works of SH, MDR and ODR. This contract covers a total length of 377.38 km comprising varies SH, MDR and ODR, for a Period of Five years from Feb 2014 at a cost of Rs.233.93 Crores. Tamil Nadu Highway Department has nominated CUBE to conduct a Technical Audit – Random Quality Check of work executed under this contract.

Central Public Works Department, CPWD (Government of India) is the executing the Construction of JIPMER New Campus at Karaikal, Pondicherry (Union Territory). Karaikal Central Division, CPWD had requested IIT Madras to take up the TP QA & QC works at JIPMER New Campus at Karaikal and IIT Madras has consented to extend the service through CUBE. CPWD has subsequently signed an MoA with CUBE to start the work in the month of August 2019.

Scope:
  • To provide Third Party Quality Assurance and Quality Control Service for the Construction of JIPMER Karaikal New Campus for a period of 12 months.

Pilot Study - Hyperlocal Real Time Air Quality Monitoring at Granular Levels, Chennai

In Indian cities the problem of Air Pollution is now acutely disturbing. The polluted air just sits near the ground at breathable levels. Recent studies show that air pollution varies as much as eight times within one city block at different times. The increasing complexities in urban dynamics that have impacts on Air Quality at hyperlocal levels go undetected by city level stationary sensors. Living by the streets/roads with elevated pollution levels may increase the instances of related health conditions by up to 40%. The impact of urban parameters like land use, traffic patterns and volumes as well as location of sources like industries, on Air Quality needs to be adjudged to arrive at some valid observation that may result in policy level interventions. Measurement of the real time, hyperlocal Air Quality at granular levels would go a long way in improving the quality of data available for decision making to the public on day to day basis.

CUBE has initiated a pioneering study on a pilot scale that is replicable, scalable and economical and therefore implementable across all Smart Cities to facilitate Data Driven Decision Making.

  • Real-time capture of traffic information was obtained from Google API
  • Various urban indicators including tree cover, road length, open spaces and land use zones were mapped spatially using satellite imagery and Google Maps using GIS. The data was verified by ground truthing.
  • Individual pollutant behavior with respect to spatial factors was determined using statistical techniques like Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Logistical Regression, Clustering and Correlation metrics.
  • A Dash Board is being developed to communicate the data and findings Spatiotemporally.

Distress - Mapping & Analysis of Heritage Buildings – Nellaiappar Temple, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu

Owing to the significance of Nellaiappar Temple and its cultural impact on the city of Tirunelveli and subsequently entire state of Tamil Nadu and India, it is noteworthy not only for its aesthetic, technological and architectural values but also historical, cultural, religious and social values. The Temple is spread in 14 acres and has two main shrines, one dedicated to Lord Shiva as Nellaiappar and other to his consort Goddess Parvati as Kanthimathi Amman.

In cognizance of the value attributes of the Complex and taking into account its current condition due to rapidly changing urban dynamics, site hydrology, wear & tear as well as exposure to natural elements combined with inadequate maintenance provisions and certain incompatible interventions that have resulted in deterioration it is deemed necessary to take corrective and remedial actions. Consequently, Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department has initiated measures to prepare a Comprehensive Conservation Plan for the Temple Complex. Phase I comprises of preparation of Inception Report, mapping the present distresses in the Temple Complex and their probable causes.

Scope:
  • Analysis of site surrounds, land use and urban development and its correlation to the temple structure and hydrology. Qualitative assessment of relationship of distresses with the surrounding urban dynamics.
