The proposed Pen Monument in the Bay of Bengal is planned to be developed to commemorate the contribution of former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi to Tamil literature. The monument is being developed as a multifunctional public space that shall attract visitors throughout the year. Due to its locational characteristics, proximity to existing landmarks, and the beachfront as well as its potential to be a major tourist attraction, the proposed development is prone to experiencing a large number of visitors
The Proposed monument located in proximity to the existing landmarks and beach frot is prone to experiencing a large number of visitors. The project involves extensive study of traffic patterns and carrying out road connectivity analysis as well as working out an efficient traffic management plan to ensure seamless and streamlined movements for both pedestrians and vehicles. The main objective is to ensure the effective and harmonious operations of the monument as well as minimize the pressure on existing transport infrastructure in the vicinity of the site.
